This month, I attended a talk on SEO for AI and what one can do to show up better in AI search results. I personally turn AI search results off, because they have fed me too much incorrect information, but that’s just me, and I already know how to find me.

Basically the trick boils down to answering people’s search questions in a way that AI likes to read them, so that there is a better chance of them using your content as a “source”.

After the talk, I watched a seminar on marketing and niching down. I am not 100% sold on niching down too much, because as illustrators we need various avenues available to us to bring in enough work. That said, one can choose one main niche and the other avenues could be affiliated in some way.

I was inspired after these talks and quickly, spur of the moment, created 2 unplanned new websites. My main niche is Children’s Book Illustration, with my secondary most successful sources of income, coming from my Pet Portraits and my Wildlife Illustration. These 2 additional sources are a little different from what I do on my main illustration website, so I gave them each their own home, and SEO’d the heck out of them. It’s a bit of an experiment really, will see how it goes

Take a look:

Animal & Wildlife Illustration: wildlifeillustrator.co.za

Wiggle Piggle Pet Portraits: petportraits.org.za

Main illustration website (Children’s Book Illustration niche): elizabethsparg.com

Anyhow, to celebrate the new websites (and because I am finishing up my last few orders this week) I have made Pet Portraits and House Portraits available for order right now, until they sell out. Go to my SHOP to find out more.
