I was commissioned to illustrate a handful of educational readers for early grades in South Africa for two of our large educational publishers, Via Afrika and Shuter & Shooter. Due to the very tight deadlines, I worked in a different way than usual – using mostly markers and black pencil, and some watercolour.

For Book Dash a few years back, where I illustrated a 32 page book in a day, I used the same method – markers and black pencil so that I could work fast and not have to wait for paint to dry. Illustrations for Lebo and Gogo’s Tea Party made at the Book Dash event, are below:
